Mahila Sahayatra hosts Dutch livestock expert for livestock workshop series
Livestock raising is one of the more lucrative trades, particularly since Kathmandu has a dairy shortage. To support the interest expressed by many Sahayatra clients, Sahayatra invited Dutch farming systems expert Willem de Wit from PUM and Nepali vertinarian Dr. Jeevan Lal Amatya of Serene Pharmaceuticals to deliver livestock presentations to villagers in Chitlang, Betinin, Chhatiwan, Raigaun, and Phaperbari. Over two weeks, these experts inspected numerous farms and gave recommendations on how to better manage and care for a livestock farm. Mahila Sahayatra is deeply appreciative of Willem and Dr. Jeevan's efforts in reaching out to many Nepali farmers. This partnership reinforced Sahayatra's commitment to reach out and collaborate with different organizations in diversifying the activities of rural Nepalese communities.
